What does BodyBench measure?

68 metrics grouped into 10 dimensions: cardio & metabolic, strength, power, endurance, mobility, balance, agility, neuromuscular control, body composition, and recovery as a trend. Posture is screened as a separate eleventh dimension. Each result is scored against population norms for your age and sex, then normalized into a single 0–100 Body Score.

What is Body Score?

One number from 0 to 100 that puts every test on the same scale. Your tests come back in seconds, kilos, centimetres and watts per kilo, which can't be compared to each other. Body Score converts each of them against age- and sex-matched norms so you can see which dimension is lowest. It's a common currency, not a percentile, so the app shows it with the tier and the group it was calibrated against: Good tier · vs men 30-39.

How long does the assessment take, and what equipment do I need?

The baseline assessment takes about 10 minutes, and most of it needs nothing but floor space and your phone. Countermovement jump, single-leg balance, FMS screens and posture are all captured with the camera. Some tests do need equipment or manual entry: 1RM lifts, a 30m sprint, T-test agility and drop-jump RSI can't be measured by a phone alone, and we don't pretend otherwise.

How accurate is the jump test?

Jump height comes from flight time. The phone records the jump at up to 240 fps (240, dropping to 120 or 60 depending on the camera) and analyses the footage afterwards rather than live, so frame rate becomes time resolution. Takeoff and landing are read from the sharp step in ankle acceleration, and the app works out its own scale from gravity, so standing further from the phone no longer skews the number. On synthetic trajectories with a known 28 cm jump that keeps the spread under 2 cm; the older live pipeline sat around 6 cm on device. If pose sampling through the flight phase falls below 80 Hz the app returns nothing and asks you to jump again, because a height that could be badly wrong is worse than no height at all.

Can I correct a jump the app got wrong?

Yes. Open the filmstrip and pick the takeoff and landing frames yourself. The height recalculates as you scrub, so you can see exactly what each frame is worth. The app marks where its own detector landed, so you can see how far off it was. Frames you confirm are kept as labelled samples and used to tune the automatic detector.

Is BodyBench free?

Testing is free forever: all 10 dimensions, every test, no card required, plus one free Coach report. A BodyBench Coach subscription unlocks unlimited Coach reports, periodized training plans, and meal and posture analysis. Pricing is set in the App Store and shown before you subscribe.

How often should I retest?

Every four weeks. That's the length of a training block, and it's why Coach asks you to retest the exact dimension it targeted, so you find out whether the block worked instead of assuming it did. Testing more often mostly measures noise; testing less often means a bad plan runs for months before you catch it.

Is there an Android version?

Not today. BodyBench is iPhone-only, because the camera-based tests depend on Apple's on-device pose estimation and the Health integration. There's no web app either.

Does my data leave my phone?

Your results live on your device and there's no account or login. When you tap to request an AI Coach reading, a training plan, or a meal or posture analysis, that one request is sent through our backend to a third-party AI provider for processing. It isn't stored, and nothing is uploaded in the background. Deleting the app deletes your data.

Is this a medical or diagnostic tool?

No. BodyBench is a fitness and training tool, and every reading is an estimate for training guidance. Posture and body-composition screens flag things worth looking at; they are not a diagnosis. See a healthcare professional for medical concerns.
